Prof. Shum is a Foreign Member of the US National Academy of Engineering and an International Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering. He currently serves as the University Council Chairman of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Founding Chairman of International Digital Economy Academy (IDEA). A world-class expert on computer science and artificial intelligence (AI), Prof. Shum was previously the Executive Vice President of Microsoft Corporation, responsible for driving the company’s overall AI strategy and forward-looking research and development efforts. He is also one of the founding members of Microsoft Research China (later renamed Microsoft Research Asia) and served as the Managing Director and Chief Scientist of the research institute, helping to cultivate many world-leading computer scientists, tech experts and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Qi Tian is currently the chief scientist in the artificial intelligence field of Huawei Cloud. He graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He worked as a full professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) (2002-2019), a Chair Professor at the Center for Neuroscience and Cognition at Tsinghua University, Overseas Distinguished Young Scholar of the Natural Science Foundation of China, Yangtze River Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education, and overseas expert of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research interests are computer vision, multimedia information retrieval, and machine learning. He has received the Google Faculty Research Award, the UTSA President's Outstanding Research Award, and was one of the 10 most influential scholars in the field of multimedia. He has published 750+ peer reviewed international journal and conference papers, and his Google citation is 57000+ with H-index 106. He won 8 best paper awards including ACM Multimedia, etc.
Dr. Qi Tian joined Huawei in 2018 and served as chief scientist of computational vision at Noah's Ark Laboratory. He was elected as an IEEE Fellow in 2016, a National Major Talent Project Expert in 2021, an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences in 2021, and received the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Outstanding Contribution Award from the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence in 2021. He was elected as a CAAI Fellow in 2022.

Wenguang Chen is a professor in Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University. His research interest is in parallel and distributed systems and programming systems. He is the Conference Chair of AAAI-21, President of Hong Kong Society of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics(HKSAIR), the President of Investment Technology League (ITL) and Open Islands Privacy-Computing Open-source Community, and former President of IJCAI (2017-2019). Purdy is an early participant in artificial intelligence. She obtained her bachelor's and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001, with her master's thesis in machine learning under the supervision of Prof. Tomaso Poggio. During her early career at Hewlett Packard Research Labs, she obtained two US patents and her research was published in NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, etc. Purdy moved on to equity research in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong after obtaining her MBA from Sloan. As the Head of Global Technology, her research focuses on artificial intelligence, semiconductor and cloud computing, coverage included NVIDIA, AMD, Google, etc. Purdy’s research also extends to Chinese startups specialized in autonomous driving. Purdy came second in New Fortune Best Analyst Award - Overseas Coverage in 2017/2019. In 2018, she claimed the Golden Bull Most Valuable Analyst Award.

Xiaojuan Ma is an associate professor of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Princeton University. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and before that a research fellow in the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Information Systems department. Her background is in Human-Computer Interaction. She is particularly interested in data-driven human-engaged AI and Human-Robot Interaction in the domain of education, health, and design.

Dr. Qi DOU is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interest lies in the interdisciplinary area of AI for healthcare with expertise in medical image analysis and robot-assisted surgery towards the goal of advancing disease diagnosis and intervention via machine intelligence. Professor Helen Meng is Patrick Huen Wing Ming Chair Professor of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Her research interests lie in AI-enabled speech and language technologies. She serves as Founding Director of the Centre for Perceptual and Interactive Intelligence (CPII) since 2020, which is the CUHK-led InnoCentre on Artificial Intelligence (AI) located in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Ltd. In 2019, she was awarded the first Hong Kong SAR Government Research Grant Council’s Theme-based Research Grant in the field of AI, which supports her interdisciplinary team to develop AI-enabled spoken language technologies to screen and diagnose neurocognitive disorder (a.k.a. dementia). Since 2019, Helen has been Co-Principal Investigator and Chair of Curriculum Development of the CUHK-JC AI4Future Project, and developed the first comprehensive pre-tertiary AI education curriculum in Hong Kong, adopted by the Government’s Education Bureau.
Professor Meng received all her degrees from MIT. She founded the Microsoft-CUHK Joint Laboratory for Human-Centric Computing and Interface Technologies in 2005, which is recognized as a Ministry of Education (MoE) of China Key Laboratory since 2008. Professor Meng has served as Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Engineering between 2006 and 2010. In 2006, she founded the Tsinghua-CUHK Joint Research Center for Media Sciences, Technologies and Systems. In 2007, she helped establish the Laboratory for Ambient Intelligence and Multimodal Systems in the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Integration Technology, through its joint initiative with CUHK. In 2010, she facilitated the establishment (from the CUHK side) the Tsinghua-MIT-CUHK Joint Research Centre for Theoretical Computer Science. In 2012/2013, she served as member of CUHK Shenzhen Academic Planning Subcommittee and became an early contributor towards curriculum design for CUHK(Shenzhen), and has been their Adjunct Professor ever since. In 2013, she helped establish the CUHK Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre and serves as its Director. In 2012, Helen was appointed to be the first female Chairman of her department, and also of the Faculty, and served until 2018.
She has delivered numerous plenary, keynote and invited talks at flagship conferences, including Grand Challenge Speaker of the International Conference on Computational Linguistics 2022, Plenary Speaker of IEEE ICASSP 2021, Keynote Speaker of ACL 2021 and Plenary Speaker of INTERSPEECH 2018. Helen and her research team have received various awards, and recent ones include the First Prize of the international DialDoc@ACL 2022 Challenge, Outstanding Women Award of Jessica Magazine, Hong Kong’s SciTech Challenge 2021 Open Category Championship, 2019 IEEE SPS Leo Beranek Meritorious Service Award for service and leadership, 2016 Microsoft Research Outstanding Collaborator Award (one of 32 academics worldwide), 2016 IBM Faculty Award, 2015 ISCA Distinguished Lecturer, various Best Paper Awards, etc. Helen was also the recipient of CUHK’s Exemplary Teaching Award, Young Researcher Award and Service Award in previous years. Helen has also served as the elected Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing, often regarded as the top journal in her field. Helen is a Fellow of the IEEE, ISCA, HKIE and HKCS.
Helen has also served in various government appointments, with the most recent being appointed member of the HKSAR Government’s Digital Economy Development Committee, chaired by the Financial Secretary, where she services as the Convenor of the Talent Cultivation Sub-group.

蒙美玲教授是香港中文大學禤永明系統工程與工程管理學首席教授。她主力進行關於人工智能語音和語言處理方面的研究。 2020年，她協助建立由香港中文大學牽頭設於香港科學園的人工智能創新中心－博智感知交互研究中心有限公司，並擔任中心總監。 2019年，她獲得香港特別行政區政府研究資助局頒發的第一個人工智能主題研究計劃項目，以支持她的跨學科研究團隊開發人工智能語言技術，用於進行神經認知障礙症（俗稱老年痴呆症）的篩查和診斷。 自 2019年，蒙教授肩負為香港中文大學及香港賽馬會「智」為未來計劃的計劃副負責人及課程發展組主領，開發了香港首套切合初中程度的人工智能教育課程，該課程已被香港政府教育局採用。

Dr. Leung was the General Manager of EMC Hong Kong and Macau; and prior to joining EMC, he was the General Manager at Sun Microsystems Hong Kong and Macau.

With extensive experience in the ICT industry, Dr. Leung is keen on driving the development of the local ICT industry as well as coaching and nurturing local IT talent. He was born in Hong Kong and was graduated at the University of Birmingham, UK. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. He obtained his Doctor of Business Administration degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was also conferred as Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society.

Xiaojuan Ma is an associate professor of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). She received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Princeton University. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and before that a research fellow in the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Information Systems department. Her background is in Human-Computer Interaction. She is particularly interested in data-driven human-engaged AI and Human-Robot Interaction in the domain of education, health, and design.

麻曉娟博士是香港科技大學電腦科學及工程學系副教授，副系主任（科研和知識遷移），是人機交互聯合實驗室的主要成員之一。她於清華大學電腦科學和技術系獲得學士學位，于美國普林斯頓大學電腦系獲得碩士和博士學位。博士畢業之後曾先後在新加坡國立大學和美國卡內基梅隆大學做博士後。她的主要的研究方向是人機協同計算，主要包括人機交互和情感計算，社會和人群計算，普適計算等 ，並涉及教育、健康、設計等多個領域的應用。她是IEEE和ACM senior member，在ACM CHI, CSCW, UbiComp, ACL, AAAI等學術會議和期刊上發表了一系列論文，並多次獲得會議論文獎，獲邀在IJCAI2018會議上發表early career spotlight演講。是多個人機交互、人-機器人交互、普適計算、人工智慧會議的會議組織者和程式聯合委員會委員。

CC Wong joined Digital Realty in January 2021 as the Product Director for APAC Colocation Services. His key role is to grow the Enterprise Colocation services in APAC. Mr Wong comes to Digital Realty with more than 20 years of experience in the Data Center / Telecommunication Service industry, with experience ranging from Solutions Architect, Business Operations and Product Management. Mr Wong has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and a Global Executive MBA degree from CUHK.
